Alia Yacht And Her
Mini-Series of Daily Boats
The Turkish yacht company Alia Yachts has launched the production of a mini-series of daily boats with a length of 16 meters. Designed by Dixon Yacht Design, the dayboat was the result of a private client contacting the Antalya based yard in the hunt for a fast dayboat he was unable to find on the market. The yard decided to implement the project and accepted the project. Her well-known superyachts include 31 meters Virgen del Mar VI and 50 meters Samurai.
Founder and chairman of Alia, Gökhan Çelik, said: “Building small, one-off boats is a very different business for a superyacht builder like Alia Yachts. If the inquiry hadn’t come from an important client, I would probably have turned down the request.” When it came to designing the dayboat, the yard contacted Dixon Yacht Design, citing the studio’s “strong track record in the powerboat sector.”
The result sees the main saloon and the main galley brought out onto the deck, shaded by a large fiberglass hardtop “so guests aren’t forced to sit out in the sun all day,” company founder Bill Dixon said. Other features include a double cabin below with ensuite and shower and a second galley with sink and fridge. Power comes from twin Volvo IPS 650 units for a top speed of over 35 knots. Fitted with bigger engine alternatives, the boat would be able to exceed 40 knots.
